As a way to kick start City-Demos we are having a contest straight away!
As you see at the top of this site is a picture of our beautiful city. It’s a nice photo but we’d like to replace it with something that you, our users, have crafted.
The contest will be to design a new Top Banner for our site. If we select your piece then it will show up at the top of the City-Demos page for the entire world to see!
The theme of course will be Vancouver. So whatever that means to you. Anything from literal interpretations of actual locales in or around the Vancouver area to the ideas it provokes.
All mediums are welcome and encouraged. From photography to computer generated to sculpture, you name it! Get creative!
If you want to make an accurate overhead orthographic representation of Yaletown in Maya then go for it!
If you want to airbrush a panoramic mural of Stanley Park onto a line of models, then by all means!
If you want to take a snapshot of North Van while paragliding off Grouse Mountain, then we salute you!
The dimensions for submissions are as follows.
Width: 730
Height: 230
Note that the top left corner and bottom right corner will be covered because of the shape of the banner, but that may be subject to change so please feel free to fill the entire rectangle.
Once you create your work of art post it in the City-Demos Banner Contest Thread in the Contest Section of the forums and we will choose our winner from there.
We will choose our new banner on May 1st, so until then show us what you got!
We thank everybody in advance for their submissions!
Sincerely,
City-Demos
