- Just what is City-Demos?
City-Demos is a portfolio and community website based around the Vancouver Arts and Entertainment Industries. It was conceptualized and built by individuals who have had experience in almost every aspect of the these industries for years, and know the challenges of getting out there, finding the right place and getting the right people to see you. - I notice that City-Demos is in Beta. What does that mean?
Right now City-Demos is a brand new site, and our first priority is the satisfaction of our users. For this stage, it is our goal to get users on the site and generate feedback in order to improve the website, telling us what City-Demos what it needs in order to bring our members the best experience available!
- What happens when City-Demos goes out of Beta?
Once City Demos has been in operation long enough and have garnered enough user feedback and suggestions, we will perform a site-wide upgrade to the full version of City-Demos bringing you the ultimate online experience.
- Couldn't I just have my own website?
City-Demos is in essence your personal website, with the added benefit of a much higher view rate by industry professionals 24/7. You can update your content from any computer, at any time. If you wish you can also have a domain name forwarded to your City-Demos Profile.
- I don't live in Vancouver, can City-Demos still help me?
It certainly can! No matter where you are, the primary function of City Demos is to get your demo reel on the web so it can be quickly and easily viewed by anyone. All you have to do upload your reel to your personal page and voila, you can send it anywhere, easily!
- How will this site save me time and money?
City-Demos aims to be the one stop shop for everything one needs to get connected, hire, get hired and stay in touch. Rather than spending hours and dollars on expensive dvd copies and having to manually hand a portfolio to an employer, now it's as easy as uploading and sending via the web! In addition City-Demos has a huge database of potential employers in the area so there's no need for grueling hours of research to find places that require the skills you have. Everything is professionally programmed and maintained so you don't have to worry and can focus on what's important.
- How do I know Industry Professionals are looking at my page?
City-Demos makes sure that there will be a lot of traffic through reels by making sure that all potential employers know about it. We are personally visiting every employer in the Vancouver and lower mainland area to spread the word and bring everyone together via City-Demos.
- I have a question that's not answered here, who can I ask?
